ABA Classrooms - Preschool

Our preschool program focuses on interactive play skills, social interaction, communication, functional class routines, behavioural self-management, and preacademic skills.

The Benefits of AlphaBee’s Classroom:

  • Help prepare your child to learn in a larger group environment and to follow classroom routines
  • Teach your child how to transition, request to adults and peers, tolerate delays and denials, engage in play routines, complete pre-academic skills, and more!
  • Focus on peer interactions and building play skills
  • Will provide your child with 1:1 support within a group
  • Supports the generalization of skills that were taught in 1:1 to the group setting
  • Combines ABA and educational assessments and curriculums

This classroom will facilitate an environment In which your child will develop skills needed to participate in their school classroom. The preschool/kindergarten setting will consist of small groups of 2-6 children with 1:1 supports.

Service Details:

  • Classes run 5 Weekday Mornings per week at 9:00am – 12:00pm.
  • Classrooms are ongoing with rolling admissions.
  • This program is available at our Etobicoke and Hamilton locations.

Prerequisite Skills for Group Learning:

  • Your child should be able to communicate needs and wants in some way.
  • Your child should have minimal to no challenging behaviour and no behaviour that poses a safety risk to themselves/others
  • Your child should require only minimal prompting/assistance and reminders for toileting

Note About Toileting – Children still in pull ups will be encouraged to use the toilet on a set schedule (e.g. every 1.5-2 hours) and changed if soiled. While we don’t work on toilet training intensely in this program, we do have the children practice a toileting routine periodically.

ABA Classrooms - School Readiness

Our school readiness program focuses on preparing children who have entered or are entering a classroom environment. This group will work on building skills to facilitate learning in an elementary classroom environment, focusing on communication, functional routines, social interactions, behavioural self-management, and pre-academic/academic skills.

The Benefits of AlphaBee’s Classroom:

  • Will help prepare your child to learn in a larger group environment by teaching skills in small groups
  • Supports the generalization of skills that were taught in 1:1 to the group setting
  • Combines ABA and educational assessments and curriculums
  • Focus on peer interactions and building friendships
  • Will teach your child to complete simple pre-academic/academic activities following group lessons
  • Will work on building independence within pre-academic/academic activities

The classroom will mimic the structure of a school setting with a smaller group of two to four children with one to two instructors. The lead instructor prepares weekly lessons that target group and individual goals.

Service Details:

  • Classes run 5 Weekday Afternoons per week at 1:00pm – 5:00pm.
  • Classrooms are ongoing with rolling admissions.
  • This program is available at our Etobicoke and Hamilton locations.

Prerequisite Skills for Group Learning:

  • Your child should be able to communicate needs and wants in some way
  • Your child can tolerate being around multiple peers without engaging in problem behaviour that may pose a safety risk to themselves and peers
  • Your child can transition between activities with warnings and or, minimal prompting
  • Your child should require minimal to no assistance for the entire toileting routine (may need reminders to initiate, wash hands, etc.)
  • Your child should follow simple 1 and 2-step instructions
  • Your child can remain independently engaged within a preferred activity for up to 2-5 minutes

Our classroom program teaches skills to facilitate learning in a group environment, focusing on cooperative play, communication, functional routines, social interactions, behavioural self-management, and academics.

The Benefits of AlphaBee’s Classroom:

  • Will help prepare your child to learn in a larger group environment by teaching skills in small groups
  • Focus on peer interactions and building friendships
  • Will teach your child to complete independent academic skills following group lessons
  • Supports the generalization of skills that were taught in 1:1 to a group setting
  • Combines ABA and educational assessments and curriculums

The classroom will mimic the structure of a school setting with a smaller group of two to four children with two to three instructors, one being the lead. The lead instructor prepares weekly lessons that target group and individual goals.

Service Details:

  • Classes run 5 weekday mornings (8:30am – 12:30pm) or afternoons (1:00pm – 5:00pm) per week.
  • Classrooms are ongoing with rolling admissions.
  • This program is available at our Etobicoke and Hamilton locations.

Intermediate Prerequisite Skills:

  • Your child should have minimal to no problem behaviour
  • Your child should require minimal to no assistance for the entire toileting routine (may need reminders to initiate, wash hands, etc.)
  • Your child should play independently for 5-10 minutes
  • Your child should be able to communicate their wants and needs
  • Your child should be able to label and identify common objects and actions as well as follow simple 1 and 2-step instructions from a distance

ABA Classrooms - Advanced School Age

Our classroom program focuses on cooperative play, communication, functional routines, social interactions, behavioural self-management, and academics. 

The Benefits of AlphaBee’s Classroom:

  • Will help prepare your child to learn in a larger group environment by teaching skills in small groups
  • Focus on peer interactions and building friendships including advanced conversation skills
  • Will teach your child cooperative play skills on how to make fair decisions as a team
  • Will teach your child to complete independent academic skills following group lessons
  • Will teach your child mindfulness and self-regulation to be more flexible when encountering challenges
  • Supports the generalization of skills that were taught in 1:1 to a group setting
  • Combines ABA and educational assessments and curricula.

The classroom will mimic the structure of a school setting with a smaller group of four to six children with two to three instructors, one being the lead. The lead instructor prepares weekly lessons that target group and individual goals. Academic lessons will include reading, math and science, focusing on both group and independent work.

Service Details:

  • Classes run 5 Weekday Afternoons per week at 1:00pm – 5:00pm.
  • Classrooms are ongoing with rolling admissions.
  • This program is available at our Etobicoke and Hamilton locations.

Prerequisite Skills for Group Learning:

  • Your child should be able to complete independent work for 5-10 minutes
  • Your child should play independently for 5-10 minutes
  • Your child should ask and respond to various wh- questions
  • Your child should engages in minimal to no problem behaviour and be independent with daily self-care routines
  • Your child should show an interest in peers
