Occupational Therapist (OT)

Dina Kalales OT Reg. (Ont). completed a Master of Occupational Therapy at the University of Toronto in 2008 and a B.Sc. (Hons) of Physical Education and Health/ Kinesiology at the University of Toronto in 2006. She is a member of Ontario Society of Occupational Therapist. She has more than 15 years’ experience working with children with disabilities in various settings. Before becoming an occupational therapist, she was an aba therapist and has participated in a 20/20 documentary: “Teen Locked in Body, Unable to Speak”. Dina Kalales is dedicated in supporting children with sensory, life-skills, fine or gross motor difficulties in order to enable them to achieve their personal best in life and school. Her goal in therapy is to inspire children to do things that they never thought possible. She has experience working with children who have Autism Spectrum Disorder, Motor Delay, Learning Disabilities, ADHD/ADD, Anxiety/Mood Disorders, Cerebral Palsy, Global Developmental Delay, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. Dina is trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Handwriting Without Tears, Zones of Regulation, Incredible 5 Point Scale, Sensory and Behavioural strategies. She highly enjoys working in multidisciplinary teams and has consulted with many public/private schools, group homes, aba centers, camps and various government organizations. Her approach is to mix a sweet and fun-loving style with enough rules and structure to help children achieve their goals.
